We have programs just for schools. These programs are for students in grades 4 through 8 and are formatted to build on each other. (e. g. after participating in the 4th grade program, the same students will participate in the 5th grade program the next year and so on). Each program starts with a hands-on opportunity with a horse at the school location. After the program every student will receive a book. As a follow up, the teacher and students will be given log-in information to a portal with activities for the students. Some of the programs have an accompanying movie for the students to watch in class. The teacher portion of the portal provides a study guide for the book and the movie if applicable.
Fourth Grade Program
Students will have an opportunity to meet Hark and participate in hands-on activities that will teach them about the evolution of the horse from the Dawn Horse 55 million years ago to the Morgan horse of today. Each student will receive the book Hark! Follow My Hoofbeats.
Fifth Grade Program
Hark makes a return visit to the students he met last year who are now in 5th grade. Students will be able to interact with Hark as he takes them on an adventure through the rise of chariots to the fall of Rome.
Each student will receive the book No Man to Romans.
Sixth Grade Program
The students who met Hark in fourth and fifth grade now have a chance to interact with Tyson as they explore the Middle Ages together. This is the age of knights and pilgrimages and crusades and lots of horses!
Each student will receive the book Dark to Light.
Seventh Grade Program
It’s time for the students to interact with Rosie and explore the Renaissance and the Age of Discovery. Rosie is a Pure Spanish horse and can trace his ancestry to the 1500s so he knows a lot about this era.
Each student will receive the book Armor to Art.
Eighth Grade Program
After 6,000 years, the era of the horse is coming to an end but in some ways the horse is more important than ever before! Tiger can’t wait to take the students on an exploration of the New World. He will also guide students on an investigation of revolutions all around the world - including a different kind of revolution, the Industrial Revolution. Each student will receive the book Muddy Roads to Men on the Moon.
