Meet Tiger
'sIn 2023 we decided it was time to add another horse to the herd. We have always wanted a horse bred by Cece Yelek - Greentree Morgans. The bloodlines are the same as Regency, Oakie, Junior and Hark and getting harder to find! Not only are the bloodlines highly desirable but there just isn't anyone who starts a horse as well as Cece! Her horses are so in demand that we never seem to be looking when she has one available - they usually sell as weanlings and are with their new owners by 2 years old. But his time we got lucky! Cece asked if we'd be interested in her 3 year old, Tiger. I knew from the many posts on her Facebook page that he was a very special horse that she had no intention of selling. As a youngster a rattle snake bit him. He almost died but with Cece care, he survived. Then, he got into a toxic weed and almost died again! And again, Cece's TLC brought him through. As she put it, "He almost died twice!" The bond she had formed with him was special indeed. When I said, "but I thought he was not for sale", Cece responded, "I'd sell him to you." What an honor for which we will be eternally grateful! Tiger is the most loyal and loving horse; he learned that from Cece! When we got him home what a surprise when we discovered he looks so much like Hark - right down to the left hind foot white marking!! Look at them both below! (Tiger is the 2 middle pictures)
We went to Texas to meet Tiger and it was love at first site. I rode him and Martin and I both drove him. Understandably there was a tear in Cece's eye when we put him on the trailer and headed for Michigan. Tiger made the long trip home with us from Texas. He joined the herd and fit right in. First he groomed with Rosie then Tyson..... and learned that Hark is in charge.
We spent the winter riding him and driving him and then in the summer of 2024 took him to his first shows. He received a 67% in his first Intro dressage test and won the class at his first driving show with Martin. He's the new kid on the block so his book, Muddy Roads to Men on the Moon, is the last book in the series and deals with how in modern times the role of the horse has changed.
Tiger is going to be such a fun horse and we are so excited to have everyone meet him!
